Areas for Improvement

AI Analysis

It Had to be You operates as a conventional mid-2000s romantic comedy. The film adheres to established genre tropes, focusing on a standard heterosexual romantic arc and middle-class domesticity. It lacks the intentionality needed to disrupt social hierarchies or offer intersectional perspectives. Because the narrative relies on traditional relationship structures and homogeneous demographic norms, it offers little in the way of diverse representation. The film functions primarily within the standard parameters of its era's romantic comedy framework.
