Miracle Run succeeds as a specialized character study, offering a meaningful and non-exploitative look at the lived experience of autism. By following the twins from childhood into adolescence, the film captures the systemic challenges of navigating mainstream educational environments. However, the film's impact is limited by a lack of broad diversity. The production operates within a very narrow social framework, relying on a homogeneous cast and traditional family structures that offer little representation for diverse racial or LGBTQ+ identities. Ultimately, the film is a focused biographical drama that excels in its specific subject matter while remaining socially conservative in its broader depiction of the world.
