The film stands out by challenging traditional domestic roles and offering a genuine South Asian perspective. It shifts away from Western storytelling by focusing on the specific social and economic conditions of Mumbai. However, the film lacks representation for LGBTQ+ identities and specific disability stories. While it delves into psychological isolation, these themes are presented as universal rather than specific to any underrepresented group. Overall, the film's strength lies in its nuanced critique of gender hierarchies and bureaucratic labor, showcasing a sophisticated understanding of individual ability to act within restrictive social structures.
