New Mother-in-law (2026) is a domestic comedy built around male protagonists and a controlling female figure. Viktor and his twin brother Tokha drive the external action, while Galina exerts power through household rules. Women appear mainly as domestic controllers or minor figures rather than active drivers of the broader plot. The cast is exclusively Russian, and the setting is a standard Russian home. No characters of color or non-Russian ethnic backgrounds are mentioned. The film leans on familiar family hierarchies and institutions like the police and prison without questioning their authority. No LGBTQ+ characters or same-sex relationships appear, and no disabilities are shown or referenced. The narrative reinforces conventional gender roles and relies on familiar tropes without challenging social norms. Available evidence is limited to the synopsis and cast list.

Official Synopsis
Viktor Suslov finds himself back in the maelstrom of family passions: now he lives under the thumb of a new mother-in-law, with her single-handedly established rules and strict house rules. An already difficult life is disrupted by the sudden arrival of Viktor's twin brother, Tokha. The domestic "idyll" is bursting at the seams when, not without the participation of the mother-in-law, the former enmity of the two brothers flares up again. The situation is aggravated by the appearance on the doorstep of FSIN officers looking for Tokha.
