For her entire life, the cult she was born into has been all that teenage Selah has known. Along with a band of similarly cloistered young women she lives seemingly unstuck in time, cut off from modern society in a remote forest commune presided over by a man called Shepherd, a controlling, messiah-like figure with a frightening dark side. But when her insular world is rocked by a series of nightmarish visions and disturbing revelations, Selah begins to question everything about her existence—including her allegiance to the increasingly dangerous Shepherd.

Category Breakdown
LGBTQ+ Representation
The film lacks explicit LGBTQ+ narratives or non-heteronormative identities. The focus remains on the protagonist's psychological liberation rather than queer visibility.
Gender Representation
The narrative excels by centering young women navigating a patriarchal structure. It highlights the tension between female agency and the controlling authority of the Shepherd.
Racial & Ethnic Diversity
The cast is relatively homogeneous, reflecting a specific Polish rural context. It does not utilize diverse casting to expand its demographic scope.
Religious & Cultural Diversity
The film offers a sophisticated critique of religious-adjacent cults. It deconstructs the 'sacred community' by portraying traditional authority as a site of psychological entrapment.
Disability Representation
Psychological distress and trauma drive the protagonist's awakening. However, disability is not utilized as a central identity marker within the story.

AI Analysis
The film's strength lies in its deconstruction of patriarchal hierarchies and systemic indoctrination. By centering the female experience against a messianic male figure, it provides a powerful look at individual agency versus communal control. However, the narrative is limited by its demographic homogeneity. The lack of LGBTQ+ visibility and racial diversity keeps the score from reaching a higher tier of intersectional representation. Ultimately, the work succeeds as a psychological study of social structures, even if it remains culturally narrow in its casting.
