The film shifts the cinematic focus from broad political maneuvers to the lived experiences of a Palestinian family. By centering a underrepresented household in a geopolitical context, the film provides its characters with profound ability to act and psychological depth. While the film excels in representing Palestinian culture and ethnicity, it remains rooted in a traditional family structure, limiting the exploration of LGBTQ+ identities and disability-related narratives. Ultimately, the film serves as a powerful critique of territoriality, using the domestic sphere as a site of resistance against traditional hierarchies.
