New Showbiz Analysis

The film focuses on the psychological impact of a maritime crisis on a small social unit, rather than on identity-based issues. Its strength lies in subverting traditional hierarchies by portraying the father's authority as fragile and subject to scrutiny. The narrative also critiques middle-class stability through the setting of a decaying family home. However, the film lacks explicit demographic representation, such as multi-layered casting or storylines centered on LGBTQ+ identities or disability.
