New Showbiz Analysis

Twisted Romance is a character-driven drama that prioritizes queer identities by making a same-sex relationship the central element of the plot. It avoids idealized romantic clichés and delves into the darker, more complex realities of toxic attachment and power dynamics. The film successfully deconstructs conventional male roles and straight-centered family models by focusing on the psychological breakdown between Roberto and Raúl. However, its impact is limited by a narrow focus on internal issues, and it lacks visible ethnic or disability representation.
