Sister is a conventional domestic drama that prioritizes interpersonal conflict over systemic or multi-layered exploration. The narrative focuses on a family unit attempting to stabilize after a tragedy, primarily through the lens of mental health and caretaking responsibilities. While the film engages with neurodivergence and maternal instability, it adheres to traditional dramatic structures. The shift from female-led crisis to male-led resolution reinforces a standard narrative trajectory. Ultimately, the film lacks the diverse casting and broad social commentary necessary to move beyond a baseline representation of the nuclear family.
