New Showbiz Analysis

Alekos Sakellarios's comedy is a quintessential product of its time, using a classic 'comedy of errors' structure. The film upholds rather than challenges the social and gender hierarchies of 1960s Mediterranean society. It focuses on class conflicts and social mobility through comedic misunderstandings but does not meet modern standards for representing diverse identities or subverting institutional norms.
