The setup is a conventional crime thriller that adheres strictly to established genre clichés. The narrative architecture is built around masculine conflict, focusing on a male protagonist's quest for vengeance following a betrayal. The film lacks intentionality regarding the way different parts of someone's identity overlap. It functions as a standard genre piece that reinforces traditional social hierarchies rather than disrupting them through nuanced character studies. Ultimately, the film prioritizes individual control over the story and traditional power dynamics over progressive representation or systemic deconstruction.
