A Fall from Grace

The film adheres to a traditional framework that assumes everyone is straight or cisgender. It focuses on a romantic relationship between a man and a woman, without including any perspectives on LGBTQ+ identities or non-assuming gender matches what was assigned at birth identities.

The narrative emphasizes the psychological complexity and ability to act of female characters. Starting from a vulnerable position, Grace and Jasmine take control of the story's tension, challenging traditional male leadership roles through themes of manipulation.

An all-Black cast provides a significant shift from predominantly white thrillers. By centering a Black professional woman in a high-stakes legal drama, the film offers a nuanced portrayal of Black ability to act and success.
