Female agency is highlighted as the mother becomes the central driver of the romantic conflict. This shifts focus away from standard generational hierarchies.

AI Analysis

Mum's Better! operates within the conventional boundaries of the romantic comedy genre. While it offers a minor subversion of typical tropes by centering the mother as the primary object of desire, it lacks broader intersectional depth. The film's focus remains on interpersonal romantic dynamics rather than systemic or cultural critique. This results in a narrative that feels traditional in its execution despite its specific plot twist.
