Category Breakdown

LGBTQ+ Representation

Limited

The film centers on the friendship between Sara and Rebe. While the nightclub setting hints at potential social exploration, there is no explicit evidence of queer identity.

Gender Representation

Fair

Female protagonists drive the plot and navigate the supernatural threat. However, the narrative relies on traditional horror tropes of female vulnerability rather than subverting gender hierarchies.

Racial & Ethnic Diversity

Limited

Set in 1987 Spain, the film appears to follow the demographic expectations of its localized setting. There is no indication of a diverse or multi-ethnic ensemble.

Religious & Cultural Diversity

Fair

Religious iconography, specifically a communion dress, serves as a source of dread. Substance use is framed through a traditional moral lens, linking it to subsequent peril.

Disability Representation

Minimal

The narrative contains no mention of characters with visible or invisible disabilities, neurodivergence, or chronic illness.

Strengths

  • Provides central agency to female protagonists within the horror framework.

Areas for Improvement

  • Lacks explicit markers of intersectional complexity or diverse casting.
  • Relies on traditional moral frameworks regarding substance use and religious symbols.
  • Does not subvert traditional gender hierarchies or explore non-cisnormative identities.

AI Analysis

The film functions as a traditional horror piece that adheres closely to genre conventions. While it grants central agency to its female leads, it lacks the intersectional complexity or systemic critique necessary for a higher diversity rating. The production appears localized to its Spanish setting, suggesting a homogeneous cast. The use of religious symbols provides a cultural touchstone, but these elements are used to build suspense rather than to explore diverse social perspectives. Ultimately, the story focuses on supernatural survival rather than progressive social themes or diverse representation.
