New Showbiz Analysis

The film stands out as a significant piece of queer cinema that disrupts traditional mystery clichés. By centering a gay protagonist and featuring an elderly lesbian couple, it integrates queer lived experience into the core investigative tension. However, the narrative's impact is somewhat limited by its focus on a male lead's professional ability to act and a lack of explicit racial diversity in the cast.
