Fist of Fury 1991 operates as a standard action-comedy that relies heavily on established genre clichés. While it avoids harmful stereotypes, it does not actively seek to challenge social hierarchies. The film's strength lies in its exploration of regional identity and the inclusion of a female character with physical ability to act. These elements provide a slight departure from more restrictive genre norms. However, the narrative remains anchored in traditional male-centric romantic goals and conventional heroic clichés centered on individual achievement and capitalist motivations.
