Dhadak 2 stands out by using a romantic framework to highlight systemic inequities rather than promoting social cohesion. By remaking a seminal anti-caste work, the film centers underrepresented perspectives and disrupts traditional power dynamics. The narrative prioritizes a critique of established social hierarchies, framing the family unit and caste structures as oppressive forces. This approach moves away from color-blind storytelling toward an active engagement with identity politics. While the film excels in exploring caste-based stratification, the gendered dimension is less balanced. The central conflict remains primarily driven by the male protagonist's struggle against institutional gatekeeping.
