Disintegration Loop 1.1 is a formalist, non-narrative experimental film that serves as an aesthetic meditation on decay. Since it lacks human subjects, characters, or dialogue, it does not engage with social identity politics or characters who reflect more than one aspect of diversity. The work uses a static shot of lower Manhattan and decaying tape loops to create a cinema verité elegy focusing on the intersection of memory and physical decay. Ultimately, the low diversity score reflects the film's intent to explore systemic tragedy and environmental phenomena rather than individual human identities.
