Evelyn demonstrates investigative agency by uncovering the town's dark history. However, the narrative largely follows a standard domestic thriller framework centered on a parental dyad.

AI Analysis

Door in the Woods operates within the established conventions of the supernatural thriller genre. The plot prioritizes domestic stakes and traditional family dynamics, offering little disruption of social hierarchies. The film relies on familiar tropes, such as the 'missing children' mystery and malevolent entities. While Evelyn shows intellectual drive, the overall structure remains rooted in heteronormative and conventional storytelling patterns. Ultimately, the film lacks intentional intersectional character development, focusing instead on a standard nuclear family facing a supernatural threat.
