Category Breakdown

LGBTQ+ Representation

Minimal

The film sticks to conventional blockbuster storytelling without queer representation or alternative relationship structures. Romantic subplots follow standard heteronormative patterns that avoid challenging traditional franchise expectations.

Gender Representation

Good

Scarlett Johansson’s Zora Bennett drives the tactical narrative, shifting leadership away from traditional masculine archetypes. Female characters wield operational agency and intellectual authority, creating a capability-focused ensemble.

Racial & Ethnic Diversity

Excellent

Mahershala Ali anchors the scientific core while Latino and multi-ethnic actors occupy central familial and operational roles. Characters of color navigate high-stakes plot functions, actively dismantling homogeneous casting patterns.

Religious & Cultural Diversity

Good

Corporate greed and genetic manipulation serve as the true antagonists, framing institutional overreach as the primary conflict. The narrative examines scientific ethics and environmental consequences, blending pacing with systemic critique.

Disability Representation

AI Analysis

Jurassic World Rebirth deliberately restructures its franchise DNA by placing a highly competent female operative at the narrative center. Scarlett Johansson’s Zora Bennett commands tactical decisions, while Mahershala Ali and a multi-ethnic ensemble anchor the scientific and familial stakes. This casting strategy actively dismantles the series’ historically male-dominated hierarchy, replacing it with a capability-driven ensemble that feels both fresh and structurally sound. The film’s environmental and corporate critique provides a mature thematic backbone, positioning institutional greed as the true antagonist. By framing genetic manipulation as a systemic failure rather than a simple monster threat, the story achieves a nuanced progressive alignment. The action sequences serve this larger commentary, grounding spectacle in ethical consequence. However, the narrative completely sidesteps disability and queer representation, relying on familiar heteronormative frameworks and physical survival tropes. While the gender and racial shifts mark a clear evolution, the absence of broader identity representation keeps the overall diversity score moderate. The film succeeds as a capable, thematically aware blockbuster, yet it stops short of fully expanding its cultural scope.
