Runaway Brain is a conventional animated comedy that centers on high-concept sci-fi and slapstick humor. The narrative structure relies on established mid-90s clichés and traditional character types. The film does not challenge or redefine existing social, gender, or cultural norms. Instead, it focuses on the chaotic behavior of hyper-intelligent animals within a stylized urban setting. Ultimately, the production remains within mainstream parameters, offering limited exploration of identity politics or diverse representation.
