The Astral Factor functions as a conventional thriller that upholds established cinematic conventions. By focusing on a male antagonist's psychological fixation and a predatory cycle, the film emphasizes suspense over exploring diverse identities. The narrative structure relies heavily on traditional thriller formulas, such as the protector and victim dynamic. This approach limits the roles of female characters and fails to dismantle systemic power structures. While the film includes some racial diversity in its cast, it does not provide the depth needed to challenge social expectations or offer nuanced portrayals of mental health and culture.
Category Breakdown
