Hadi Be Oğlum is a character-driven drama that finds its most progressive footing in its treatment of neurodiversity. By centering the narrative on a child with unique communication needs, the film challenges standard expectations of familial connection. While the film does not actively disrupt traditional gender or sexual hierarchies, it successfully shifts the focus away from neurotypical standards of normalcy. The struggle to bridge cognitive gaps provides a meaningful layer of agency to a character often marginalized in cinema. Ultimately, the work trades mainstream commercial tropes for a more nuanced, grounded exploration of human connection and the burdens of memory.
