AI Analysis
Titanic succeeds as a character study of female agency, using Rose to challenge the restrictive social hierarchies of the Edwardian era. Her struggle against patriarchal control provides the film's emotional and thematic backbone. However, the film is limited by its historical focus, resulting in a lack of LGBTQ+ representation and minimal racial diversity. The narrative prioritizes class conflict over multi-ethnic or intersectional social critiques. Ultimately, while the film excels in its subversion of gender roles and institutional critique, it remains a narrow exploration of a specific socio-economic era.
