New Showbiz Analysis

Katha Parayumbol is a character-driven social comedy that emphasizes regional storytelling over disrupting the way different parts of someone's identity overlap. It excels in showing how individuals maintain a significant role in driving the story within established societal expectations. The film's strength lies in its sophisticated engagement with social hierarchies. By critiquing the 'cult of personality,' the script examines the tension between personal principles and the pursuit of celebrity status. However, the work remains rooted in traditional narrative structures. It does not actively seek to dismantle patriarchal institutions or provide representation for LGBTQ+ identities and disabilities.
