New Showbiz Analysis

Araf is a genre-driven supernatural thriller that prioritizes traditional storytelling over challenging social norms. The narrative focuses on a nuclear family unit and conventional spiritual hierarchies, offering little room for exploring multiple aspects of identity. The film adheres to established clichés, particularly regarding gender and spirituality. While it centers on a female lead, the conflict leans into standard themes of domestic instability and vulnerability. Ultimately, the work functions within a localized cultural context without attempting to disrupt social norms or provide complex character studies beyond its horror framework.
