New Showbiz Analysis

Etter Rubicon operates as a traditional 1980s political thriller, emphasizing investigative tension rather than identity-driven storytelling. Its strength lies in critiquing institutional secrecy and state power. However, the film lacks representation of diverse identities. The narrative focuses on a localized Norwegian setting and traditional masculine roles, resulting in a homogeneous cast. While the medical mystery provides a central conflict, the portrayal of the boys' condition is unclear in terms of sensitivity.
