Prey of the Chameleon is a standard 1990s thriller that relies heavily on established genre clichés. The plot centers on a male protagonist's romantic instability and a female antagonist's predatory identity theft, offering little in the way of social or layered depth. The film lacks representation across most diversity metrics, focusing instead on individual criminal behavior and personal romantic failure. It functions as a conventional character study within a likely homogeneous setting. Ultimately, the film adheres to the narrow narrative archetypes typical of early 90s television movies, prioritizing suspense over sociological complexity.
