Sankat City serves as a social satire that emphasizes the critique of systemic and institutional failures over individual identity politics. The film uses a massive traffic gridlock to explore the tensions between different socioeconomic classes. While the film effectively portrays a multi-ethnic urban landscape, it lacks substantial subversion of gender or LGBTQ+ norms. The narrative structure favors an ensemble-driven exploration of chaos over traditional hero-centric storytelling. Ultimately, the film’s strength lies in its postmodern deconstruction of the orderly city, highlighting the breakdown of social structures as a central theme.
