Mr. Right succeeds in challenging traditional masculine archetypes by focusing on the emotional labor and romantic instability of its male characters. It moves beyond including someone from a minority group without giving them real depth by integrating LGBTQ identities into everyday domestic struggles rather than treating them as spectacle. However, the film lacks significant racial and ethnic diversity, appearing to follow a more homogeneous Western casting model. While the exploration of non-traditional relationship structures is a strength, the female characters lack the depth afforded to the male ensemble.
