A woman and her 14-year-old daughter, who is a sleepwalker, in the midst of awakening. A marriage on the edges of a silenced crisis. A ritualistic, matriarchal, and endogamous family. Grandmother, siblings, cousins. A new summer, sweat, alcohol, traditions. Naked bodies, changing bodies, and the gazes upon those emerging bodies. A new New Year's celebration in the old historic family mansion is the trap for the sleepwalkers to finally awaken.

Category Breakdown
LGBTQ+ Representation
The film explores burgeoning sexuality and the discovery of desire through the gaze of emerging bodies. However, it lacks explicit evidence of queer-coded character arcs or non-cisnormative identities.
Gender Representation
The narrative subverts patriarchal tropes by centering on a matriarchal family structure. It prioritizes the agency of a mother and daughter navigating puberty and bodily autonomy.
Racial & Ethnic Diversity
The setting and cast appear largely homogeneous, reflecting a specific localized Spanish coastal community. The film does not appear to pursue intersectional or color-blind casting strategies.
Religious & Cultural Diversity
The film critiques traditional domestic stability by framing the family as a ritualistic trap. It utilizes a postmodern approach to character development rather than a rigid moral framework.
Disability Representation
A 14-year-old protagonist's sleepwalking is integrated into the film's atmospheric tension. This neurobiological condition serves as a primary narrative driver for the character's identity.

AI Analysis
The film excels at deconstructing traditional family hierarchies, replacing patriarchal structures with a matriarchal lineage that centers female experiences. This focus provides a nuanced look at adolescence and bodily autonomy. However, the production remains demographically narrow, lacking significant racial diversity or explicit LGBTQ+ representation. The narrative's scope is deeply localized, which limits its intersectional breadth. Ultimately, the film is a character-driven study of sensory awakening. It succeeds in providing a progressive departure from standard coming-of-age tropes through its unique focus on female-centric domesticity.
