Official Synopsis

Based on a 2022 book by a 12 year old black girl The Miracle of the Second Chance is a soulful drama about family, tradition, and the supernatural bonds that tie us together. The story begins in a vibrant village, where young Kristine learns the heart of her culture from her mother. After mastering the family kitchen and teaching her older sisters the art of cooking rice and beans, Kristine grows into a determined woman. Her journey leads her from the village to a bustling nail salon, but her life takes a dramatic turn when her father passes away. After stepping up to take over his work, a miracle occurs: he returns to life, forever changing Kristine’s world. Years later, Kristine is a mother to two children, Lightning and Taffeta, and is married to Cled. To honor her roots, she brings her new family back to her hometown to reunite with her parents and sisters. It is a powerful "full circle" journey that ends in the beautiful peace of a normal, happy life.
