Synopsis

A clash between fishermen and poachers is surging on the Po river Delta. A local group of volunteers lead by Osso wants to save the river from overfishing and defend it from the Florians, a family on the run from the Danube region. They have with them Elia, who once was part of the local community and now is on the opposite side of the conflict. Overtaken by blind violence and thirst for vengeance, Elia and Osso will confront each other in the Delta fogs, discovering their real nature in a fight that has no heroes.

AI Analysis

Delta is a gritty drama that prioritizes social fragmentation over clear-cut morality. It uses the Po River Delta as a backdrop for a struggle involving resource control and displaced populations. The film's strength lies in its thematic depth, specifically how it challenges traditional heroism and explores the volatility of migrant integration. It moves away from simple good-versus-evil tropes to examine systemic friction. However, the film lacks representation for LGBTQ+ identities and disability. The focus remains heavily on ethnic tension and the deconstruction of masculine-driven conflict.
