Joyride is a product of its era's genre conventions, prioritizing high-stakes survival over demographic complexity. The narrative is built around a singular female protagonist facing male aggression, which limits the scope of gendered discourse. The film relies on a homogeneous, predominantly white cast and a strictly straight-centered social framework. This lack of variety prevents any meaningful exploration of diverse cultural or systemic critiques. Ultimately, the film functions as a suspense-driven exploitation piece. Its focus on individual peril and traditional clichés precludes the development of nuanced representation across most demographic vectors.
