AI Analysis

Smile Pretty is a character-driven drama that centers on the personal struggle of a young girl navigating the aftermath of abuse. While it provides a meaningful lens on female-centric trauma, the narrative remains narrow in its scope. The film lacks intersectional breadth, offering no visible representation of LGBTQ+ identities or racial diversity. It functions as a traditional domestic drama rather than a work that subverts systemic social structures. Ultimately, the film's strength lies in its focus on individual psychological resilience, but it fails to engage with broader cultural or diverse perspectives.
