Valeria Golino’s *Euphoria* is a character-driven film that prioritizes psychological depth over broader sociopolitical commentary. Its strength lies in its nuanced exploration of queer identity and the deconstruction of objective truth, making non-traditional experiences central to the narrative. However, the film’s narrow, localized European setting limits racial and ethnic diversity, making the film feel somewhat homogeneous. The focus is on personal, isolated searches for meaning rather than broader societal structures. Ultimately, the film excels as a postmodern exploration of grief and memory, emphasizing individualistic autonomy over collective frameworks.
