New Showbiz Analysis

The film 'Unknown' (2022) functions as a conventional psychological thriller that prioritizes genre clichés over social commentary. The narrative is built around a singular protagonist's descent into obsession, which limits the scope for diverse perspectives. The film relies on standard thriller mechanics, focusing on mystery-solving and individual trauma. This narrow focus results in a lack of multi-layered depth, as the story does not engage with systemic or sociological issues. While the cast provides some racial variety, the central role remains concentrated in a male-centric perspective. The film adheres to traditional genre frameworks rather than challenging established social hierarchies.
