Religious & Cultural Diversity

Limited

Areas for Improvement

  • The film lacks representation for LGBTQ+ identities and diverse racial or ethnic backgrounds.
  • The narrative relies on traditional gender archetypes rather than exploring more complex or subversive roles.
  • There is a missed opportunity to represent neurodivergence through the child's unexplained behaviors.

AI Analysis

Infernal operates within a highly conventional framework, prioritizing traditional domesticity and heteronormative family dynamics. The story relies on established horror tropes that center a standard nuclear family unit. The film lacks intersectional depth, offering no visible representation of diverse racial, ethnic, or LGBTQ+ identities. It adheres to a traditionalist approach to the genre, focusing on the disruption of a standard social order. Because the narrative avoids subverting social hierarchies or exploring non-traditional identities, it remains a narrow, conventional viewing experience.
