AI Analysis

Isabel Coixet delivers a contemplative drama that excels in its nuanced portrayal of gendered emotional landscapes. The film succeeds in providing a sophisticated, character-centric view of human connection and the complexities of aging. While the work moves away from rigid narrative structures, it remains somewhat conventional in its racial and disability representation. It avoids high-concept identity politics in favor of an empathetic exploration of its characters' lives. Ultimately, the film's strength lies in its ability to center the internal lives of its ensemble, even as it misses opportunities for broader systemic or identity-driven representation.
