Special Dead operates within the exploitation genre, emphasizing visceral spectacle and gore over systemic social commentary. While it features characters with disabilities as central protagonists, the film's reliance on 'blood, boobs, and gore' clichés complicates its potential for progressive messaging. The narrative offers ability to act to underrepresented characters but lacks the depth needed to move beyond simple genre clichés.

Official Synopsis
When a zombie plague infects a camp for the mentally handicapped, a ragtag band of campers and counselors struggles to survive the night. The unlikely heroes fight their way off the mountain as, one by one, they're picked off and join the ranks of the walking dead. It's a campy stampede of blood, boobs and gore as some "very special" people show that they can kick some serious undead ass.
