Our Own Land is a naturalist drama that emphasizes regional storytelling over diverse representation. The film explores the unmonitored freedom of childhood within a specific geographic context, focusing on two brothers in the Breton countryside. While the film successfully challenges traditional parental authority through its depiction of youth autonomy, it remains limited by a lack of demographic variety. The narrative adheres to traditional regional clichés rather than actively disrupting systemic hierarchies. Ultimately, the film lacks the explicit identity-based storytelling and diverse casting needed for higher representation scores.
