Thirst operates primarily within the established clichés of the psychological thriller genre. The narrative prioritizes the primal instincts of survival and interpersonal betrayal over exploring complex sociological themes or overlapping aspects of identity. The film's focus remains on the immediate physical and psychological deterioration of its characters. This narrow scope results in a lack of intentional representation regarding gender, race, or sexual orientation. Ultimately, the work functions as a character study of desperation. It does not seek to deconstruct systemic hierarchies or provide a platform for diverse social perspectives.
