In Order of Disappearance is a genre-driven neo-noir that emphasizes dark humor and stylistic deconstruction over social commentary. The film focuses on a homogeneous demographic and reinforces traditional gender roles. The story centers on a male protagonist seeking personal revenge, which upholds masculine leadership archetypes. While the plot critiques the failure of formal authority, this serves the thriller genre rather than offering a broader critique of societal issues. Overall, the film lacks meaningful engagement with diverse identities, remaining confined to a predominantly white, straight-centered setting.
