New Showbiz Analysis

Sameer Thahir’s film shifts toward naturalism in Malayalam cinema, moving away from melodrama and moralistic storytelling. It prioritizes atmosphere and character-driven episodes over rigid lessons. While the film lacks significant LGBTQ+ or disability representation, it successfully portrays regional diversity within India. The inclusion of characters from the North East adds nuance to the blending of regional identities. Ultimately, the film earns credit for its gritty, realistic, and subjective approach, challenging older didactic storytelling methods.
