Two friends discover the perfect beach at a remote Norwegian shore just above the Arctic Circle and decide to spend the winter here – surfing. Building a hut from driftwood and living on expired food only, the young men turn sustainable living into their own Robinson-adventure, keeping their calm even in the face of personal danger.

AI Analysis

North of the Sun is a documentary focused on individualist rebellion against modern societal norms. It prioritizes a study of environmental and situational struggle over demographic variety, centering on two men living a survivalist lifestyle near the Arctic Circle. The film succeeds in deconstructing capitalist dependency by showcasing a lifestyle built on driftwood and expired food. This provides a unique cultural perspective that challenges the necessity of traditional Western comforts and institutional stability. However, the film lacks significant representation across most demographic categories. The focus remains narrow, primarily exploring a homogeneous group within a specific geographic context, which limits its intersectional depth.
