New Showbiz Analysis

Tahmineh Milani’s film is a nuanced character study that deconstructs traditional family structures. By focusing on the friction of a marriage through a non-linear lens, it moves away from the cliché of the stable, competent male leader. However, the film remains limited by its narrow demographic scope. It lacks representation for LGBTQ+ individuals and does not feature characters with disabilities, making the social landscape feel somewhat restricted. Ultimately, the film's strength lies in its subversion of gendered power dynamics and its embrace of moral relativism, even if it remains culturally homogeneous.
