Synopsis

John-John is the best party promoter in Ibiza. He's responsible for the wildest parties ever. A party fixed by John-John is bound to be a success, and everyone will queue to get on the guest list. The former party prince among the jet setters in Paris, Charles de Poulignac, is therefore in no doubt about where he should go in order to revenge his former clients. He flies to Ibiza, where he hopes to make an alliance with John-John, and put an end to life as persona non grata in Paris, and again take his place as the party prince of Paris. Diversity & Representation

Overall Score

3.8/10

Category Breakdown

LGBTQ+ Representation

Limited

The Ibiza nightlife setting suggests a high likelihood of queer presence. However, the film lacks specific character arcs or identity-driven narratives to move beyond incidental inclusion.

Gender Representation

Fair

The plot centers on masculine social competition between promoters and socialites. There is no evidence of efforts to subvert traditional gender hierarchies or portray non-traditional masculinity.

Racial & Ethnic Diversity

Fair

While the cosmopolitan Ibiza setting implies a multi-ethnic demographic, the plot focuses on European social maneuvering. This suggests a potential lean toward a more homogeneous socialite archetype.

Religious & Cultural Diversity

Limited

The film embraces a lifestyle of hedonism and consumerism. It operates within a celebratory framework of Western leisure rather than offering a critique of these social systems.

Disability Representation

Minimal

The narrative provides no mention of characters with visible or invisible disabilities.

Strengths

  • The international Ibiza setting provides a naturally cosmopolitan and multi-ethnic backdrop for social interaction.

Areas for Improvement

  • The narrative lacks intentional, agency-driven representation for LGBTQ+ characters.
  • The plot focuses heavily on masculine social competition and traditional gender roles.
  • The story prioritizes lifestyle and consumerism over meaningful cultural or systemic critique.

AI Analysis

People : Jet Set 2 functions as a conventional lifestyle comedy centered on the social hierarchies of the Ibiza party scene. The conflict focuses on individual ambition and the reclamation of prestige rather than the deconstruction of systemic power dynamics. While the Mediterranean setting provides a backdrop for diverse social interactions, the narrative architecture prioritizes traditional tropes of social climbing. The film appears to favor aesthetic and social atmosphere over intentional intersectional storytelling. Ultimately, the work serves as a character-driven exploration of professional rivalry and jet-set status, lacking a proactive approach to progressive identity politics.
