An old sanatorium is deteriorating in an isolated forest in the mountains. Five contract workers have taken on the task of tracking the huge building for hazardous waste before it's demolished. They realize that the job is more than a search for asbestos and mercury when they encounter the building's frightening past. You can demolish a building, but never remove the past.

Category Breakdown
LGBTQ+ Representation
The film focuses on a professional crew of five workers. There is no evidence of non-cisnormative identities or narratives addressing heteronormativity within the survivalist horror framework.
Gender Representation
The ensemble centers on labor and technical expertise in a professional setting. However, the film lacks evidence of subverting traditional gender hierarchies or exploring gendered power dynamics.
Racial & Ethnic Diversity
Set in an isolated Norwegian mountain forest, the narrative suggests a potentially homogeneous cast. There is no documented evidence of significant racial blending or color-blind casting.
Religious & Cultural Diversity
The story explores the intersection of institutional history and environmental decay. It functions as a standard exploration of the haunted past trope rather than a deep institutional critique.
Disability Representation
While the sanatorium setting implies themes of illness or trauma, there is no evidence that characters with disabilities are portrayed with agency or nuance.

AI Analysis
Dark Woods II is a localized horror narrative that prioritizes atmospheric tension and survivalist tropes over social representation. The plot centers on the tension between industrial progress and the persistence of historical memory within a decaying sanatorium. The film's architecture focuses on the physical and psychological haunting of a specific location. Consequently, the capacity for broad demographic representation appears secondary to the genre's core elements of environmental hazard and historical trauma. Ultimately, the work functions as a thematic meditation on memory. It does not appear to make a deliberate attempt to challenge contemporary social or political structures through its character dynamics.
