Racial & Ethnic Diversity

Minimal

Strengths

  • The female protagonist, Annie, serves as the primary driver of the plot and narrative action.

Areas for Improvement

  • The narrative focuses on a conventional domestic unit rather than exploring complex social or cultural hierarchies.

AI Analysis

Occupants is a genre-driven sci-fi thriller that relies heavily on conventional narrative structures. The story centers on a traditional domestic unit navigating a metaphysical disruption through a found-footage lens. While the alternate dimension concept offers a theoretical space for identity exploration, the film does not appear to use this to deconstruct social hierarchies. Instead, it focuses on the psychological tension within a standard husband-and-wife dynamic. Ultimately, the film lacks intersectional depth. It adheres to established tropes without prioritizing diverse representation or progressive social commentary.
