Endangered Species operates within the conventions of early 2000s genre cinema. The film prioritizes survivalist clichés and traditional hero archetypes over any form of multi-layered complexity. By focusing on a binary struggle between humans and an extraterrestrial predator, the narrative avoids challenging established social hierarchies. The creative approach adheres to established horror and thriller conventions rather than seeking to disrupt them. Ultimately, the film lacks diverse casting and progressive themes, resulting in a traditional, human-centric survival plot.
